Mark was born the youngest of three kids to a dedicated mom & bookkeeper with a passion for numbers & reading, & a hardworking dad & plumber known for his giving nature. Mark learned the value of knowing your numbers & learning from his mom, & from his dad he learned the value of hard work & giving.

Since Mark was a kid, he has ALWAYS given his best to be his best even when his efforts did NOT make him the best.

As a kid, Mark would use the minute & second hands on his living room wall clock to time how long it took him to run the mile distance to his neighborhood grocery store, “slam” a Coke®, & run back, & he ALWAYS tried to best his previous best time. Essentially, Mark was training before he knew that he was training. Mark was introduced to organized athletics as a pre-teen, & he learned early that if he trained well, ate well, & slept well he could race & compete well. While Mark did NOT ALWAYS win the race - sometimes he did.

As a student, Mark tried to NOT just learn what he needed to know to do well on an exam, but he tried to better understand how he could make use of what he was being asked to know. While Mark usually did NOT set the class curve - sometimes he did.

Mark did NOT graduate Valedictorian. in the top 10, or the top 100 in his high school class. Also, Mark NEVER qualified for his high school state track & field championships. However, by ALWAYS giving his best to be his best he was successful earning an academic & an athletic scholarship to McNeese State University (MSU) in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

In college, Mark balanced his studies & athletics, with work selling game programs during football season, mowing yards, working at his university sports complex, & contributing to the Lake Charles area communities as a representative of McNeese Athletics & his Fraternity.

Mark’s efforts to ALWAYS give his best to be his best did NOT go unnoticed. Mark was recommended & rewarded with additional academic scholarships.

Mark was also recognized for his leadership abilities as a Cross-country Team Captain, Fraternity Officer, Blue Key National Honor Society member, & inducted into the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.

Following Mark’s graduation with a B.S. in Environmental Science from MSU in 1987, Mark continued to learn while he earned while staying fit & strong.

Through continued learning, Mark stepped up the complexity of his primary subject material from undergraduate science studies to undergraduate engineering studies & he expanded his knowledge base to master’s level studies in environmental science while performing graduate research supported & funded by graduate assistantships & scholarships. Mark later added master's level business courses to his academic studies to further his understanding of business principles.

Through continued growth as an amateur athlete while holding full-time employment Mark was successful earning an invitation to the 1996 Olympic Marathon Trials at 32, won a USA Triathlon (USAT) Amateur National Ironman Championship at 39, & he was ranked as the Number 1 ranked Master’s triathlete in America by USAT at 40 years of age. Mark also earned multiple top 10 overall finishes in amateur national triathlon championships & multiple top 10 age group finishes at the Ironman World Championships.

Mark was recognized for his drive to ALWAYS give his best to be his best as a multi-year USAT All-American & nationally sponsored brand ambassador by some of the best brands in endurance sports including Amino Vital, Brooks Sports, Helly Hansen, Haber Vision, M2 Racer, & PowerBar. While the national recognitions were nice what Mark appreciated most was the local support that he received from family, friends, & local businesses including personal chiropractor services that motivated & prepared him well for training & racing so that he could continue to ALWAYS give his best to be his best.

Mark is also a Real Estate Negotiation Institute (RENI) Certified Buyer Agent Expert (CBAE), & holds a Luxury Homes Certification, & a Residential Real Estate Divorce Specialist Certification from the Residential Real Estate Council (RRC) & is also a VA Certified Agent.

Mark has also obtained insurance licenses in accident, health, life, property & casualty, & variable annuity insurance contracts, & public adjusting.

Mark has taken continuing education courses in everything from athletics to environmental property & real estate assessments & inspections, taxes, & a lot of stuff in between.

What learning has taught Mark is that the more he learns, the more he realizes there is more to learn, & sometimes the more there is to relearn. Also, Mark certainly does NOT remember everything that he has learned, however the most important lesson that he has learned from all his learning is that learning has helped him prepare well in his quest to ALWAYS give his best to be his best, & learning has helped shaped him into who he is today, & who he will become tomorrow.
