Carencro Real Estate
Carencro, Louisiana, is located in a suburb of the city of Lafayette, Louisiana. The name is a Louisiana Creole word for buzzard, meaning where large flocks of buzzards roosted in cypress trees. The original name was St. Pierre. Carencro is a part of the Lafayette Metropolitan Statistical Area and has a population of 7,526 people. The city is conveniently located near I-10 and I-49. The early settlers of Carencro formed the basis for the language, customs, food, music and religion that is still in existence today. Carencro homes for sale include a significant amount of new construction as well as older, established homes built from 1970 to 1994 and from 1940 to 1969. There are historic homes located in Carencro as well.
The homes are predominantly single family residences. Many homes contain 3 or more bedrooms and are situated on acreage. Homes with 4 bedrooms, built-ins, 9+ ft. ceilings, slate flooring and lakes or pond are available as well as smaller homes on less than an acre with pools, patios, privacy fence and lot of shade trees.
The residents of Carencro are served by the Lafayette Parish School District. The centerpiece of the town is St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the cemetery. The church has an elaborate cypress-carved entrance, entrance hall and altar. The pews are elaborate as well and were once sold to parishioners to raise money for the church.
The Carencro Parish Parks and Recreation Department provides several leisure activities and sports for residents. Pelican Park is a multi-million dollar complex featuring country club surroundings and hosts many corporate events, concerts and festivals. Residents of Carencro will enjoy the fishing pond and jogging track at the park. Baseball, flag football and softball are a few more of the opportunities available for visitors.
This is a city chosen by many families, young professionals and retirees as well as others for its location and many recreational and entertainment venues.

My buying experience was really easy and had a lot of help.
I will remember Debbie’s constant support, she was always just a phone call away!
Carrie was outstanding, feel like she is a family member, positive energy, and returns all calls quickly.
Tony always went above and beyond to get us the information we requested.
Lacey was very professional and was quick to respond to our questions.
Lacey was down to earth and there was no pressure when I spoke to her about just looking.
I did not know anything about the process and was guided and informed by Lori. She made the process easy.
We were referred by a friend to use Rachel Hebert with Keaty Real Estate. She was wonderful and made our first experience buying a home an enjoyable and stress free one! We could not have done this without her.
I will remember most how hard Lindsey Reed fought for me. I felt like she wanted me to find a home as badly as I did.
The service we received from Keaty was wonderful & made moving from Tennessee to Louisiana so much easier!
