Rayne Real Estate
Rayne real estate is located off Interstate 10 in Acadia Parish, Louisiana and is approximately 15 miles from Lafayette. The population is 7,953 and Rayne is known as the “Frog Capital of the World.” It is also known as the “Louisiana City of Murals.” The original name of Rayne was Pouppeville. In the 1800s when the railroad arrived in Rayne, the name was changed in honor of the engineer who laid the train tracks. The city got its reputation as the frog capital when the Weill brothers began exporting the frogs to restaurants across the country. The city also is listed in Ripley’s Believe it or Not! It is the location of the only cemetery in the U.S. – St. Joseph’s Cemetery – that faces north-south rather than east-west.
The homes are mainly older homes that were constructed between 1940 and 1969, followed by homes built from 1970 to 1994. New construction and historic homes are present as well. The residents of Rayne real estate are served by the Acadia Parish School Board. There are also several private schools in the area.
The location is advantageous for those who travel across the country in RVs. The City of Rayne RV Park is located next to the Civic Center and includes 737 hookups. The city has antique venues, Cajun and American cuisine and one of the last five-and-dime stores in the country. This city has been called a “treasure of rural Americana spiced with Cajun charm.” There are numerous murals throughout the city; some which are historically significant.
The Frog Festival is held annually in Rayne and this event draws more than 50,000 people for a variety of events. Frog jumping and racing, music, carnival rides, food, the midway and other features such as the petting zoo and rock climbing are part of the activities enjoyed during the festival.

I will remember how this transaction brought two families so close and Alison never felt like an agent she was more like family.
Lacey was always available to answer any questions or find the answer if they did not know.
Al and Lacey with Keaty helped us through every step of the process both purchasing our new home and selling our old. When things got stressful for us they remained positive and professional and helped to alleviate all of our concerns. Their expertise guided us to a closing that we couldn’t have been happier with! I cannot recommend them more!
Carrie went above and beyond to find us a house even finding one before it went on the market.
Leslie Guillory is our realtor and she is the best! Like really, she is so calm and patient and smart. Buying a home can be a really scary experience and I have realized how important it is to have a smart realtor who you trust to be on your side. She really made the whole process very pleasant and non-stressful. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a realtor!
