Youngsville Real Estate
Youngsville, Louisiana is located in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana. The population is approximately 5,289 and the city is part of the Lafayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. This is a metropolitan area of the south central Acadiana region that includes Lafayette and St. Martin Parish. Settled in the 19th century by French Acadian farmers, the community was previously known as “Royville.” When the village was incorporated in 1908, the name was changed to Youngsville. From a village to a town to a city, Youngsville has been the fastest growing community in Louisiana between 1990 and 2005. Although the boundaries have been extended, Youngsville homes for sale are still within a rural city that allows residents to enjoy a small town atmosphere with big city amenities nearby.
Chemin Metairie Parkway opened its first section in 2009, connecting the intersection of Highway 92 and Chemin Metairie to Youngsville. The community of Sugar Mill Pond is located in Youngsville and is a planned waterside town. The developers of the Village of River Ranch in Lafayette planned this 509-acre development with tree-lined streets, common areas and amenities such as restaurants, an amphitheater, coffee shops and more where neighbors may interact and promote a sense of community. Including an 8-acre pond and bike routes as well as the nearby Palfrey Park, Youngsville real estate within Sugar Mill pond includes many neighborhood sponsored functions.
Youngsville is the location of one of the oldest Catholic churches in Lafayette Parish. St. Anne’s Catholic Church was established in 1859 and is still standing on Church Street in Youngsville. Residents of Youngsville are served by the Lafayette Parish School District. There are also private schools in this area. The majority of homes include single-family residences and some small to medium sized apartment complexes. Youngsville includes well-established homes constructed from 1970 to 1994 and from 1994 to the present. There are also some historic homes.
